For one night only, The Night Carnival will descend upon Milwaukee from the Floating City for an evening of surreal, immersive theater hosted by Teatro di Affetto.

On September 14th, Riverwest’s Garden Park will be transformed into a whimsical living stage where costumed performers and interactive set pieces will transport visitors to a magical land of enchantment, mysticism, and merriment.

Emerging from the Floating City, a menagerie of clockwork beasts gain sentience, alchemists and time-shifting mystics practice their arts, and bewildering future creatures make their lives.

Enjoy dazzling fire dancing performances by Sisters of the Eclipse, a burlesque show, a parade that YOU are invited to be in led by the VoodooHoney Brass band, interactive scavenger hunts, and a beer garden featuring local breweries, distilleries, and specialty cocktails.

While The Night Carnival is family friendly, be advised that there are mature elements after 10pm. Parents are encouraged to read Night Carnival books before giving them to their children, to assure there are no content surprises.

Teatro di Affetto and The Night Carnival embrace radical vulnerability, create magic in an ordinary world, and inspire audiences to embody resistance and enact liberation.

Because The Night Carnival is free to attend, we rely on the kindness of our community to assist with paying our performers, purchasing set supplies, and securing licensing. If you can, please donate to this effort, or share our fundraiser:

Please note that while we strive to include everyone and anyone in this event, Public House DOES have wheelchair access, but does not have wheelchair accessible restrooms. Accessible restrooms will be available next door at Black Husky and down the street at Linneman’s. Please do not hesitate to message the Teatro di Affetto page with any questions or concerns regarding accessibility.

The world of The Night Carnival originated in a multi-author piece of short fiction published by Vegetarian Alcoholic Press. Information on how to pre-order Volume 1 of the collected Night Carnival stories will be provided in coming weeks. ALL ATTENDEES ARE INVITED to read the story, write their own characters, and arrive in costume! Stay tuned in upcoming month for links to templates to add your character to our archive of Floating City and Lost Continent residents!
(This, of course is optional.)
